Wyoming's 23 County Clerk Offices

Every Wyoming county records deeds, mortgages, liens, and other documents affecting real property through its elected County Clerk (a few counties style the office "Clerk and Recorder," though the underlying function is identical statewide). To record a quitclaim deed, you file with the office in the county where the property is located -- not where you happen to live -- so find yours in the list below.

Recording doesn't create your ownership by itself -- the deed does that once it's signed, notarized, and delivered. What recording does is put the transfer on the public record, which is what protects a new owner if someone else later tries to claim an interest in the same property.
